Visualization

We're visual learners around here! Every project with us involves detailed digital renderings of each design concept. We take your investment seriously, and that means providing you with realistic visualizations of every product, each step of the way.

Reality

Digital renderings are clearly presented to every client, with detailed explanations of construction and components. This keeps the custom design process easy and seamless.

Custom design also means custom construction. Each object you receive is handcrafted to be one-of-a-kind. With trusted partners in fabrication, we pride ourselves on creating unforgettable tactile experiences. If we can dream it, we can build it.

Production

Our production is a blend of modern design tools and old-school production. 150 year old printing presses? You got it. Hand-mixed ink? Yep. Traditional book binding? Absolutely. We  prioritize the nostalgic tactile experience of product design and work with our trusted print and fabrication partners to make it happen.

    Plates on the press

Letterpress is a printing technique dating back to the 15th century that utilizes a series of plates that are passed through a press, often cranked by hand or foot. Each plate is designed for one color of ink, so multi-colored designs are passed through multiple times for every color. This is a laborious process that requires precise alignment (by hand) and color-mixing. Ink is mixed just like paint!

    pillowy textures

The impression of letterpress plates on paper creates an incredibly tactile experience. The thicker the paper, the fluffier the impression. This techniques makes objects that are not only fun to look at, but great to hold. There's something nostalgic about this age-old process of putting ink to paper.

    Negative impressions?

The letterpress printing technique allows for creative uses of positive and negative space in design concepts. Negative impressions mean that the negative space is given a layered, dimensional quality through the press. This is a tricky process because it demands careful application of ink through each pass!

  • We're lucky to work closely with such talented partners, including those who are incredibly skilled at all things bookmaking (looking at you Ross Press & Bindery!)

Some of our favorite bindery projects include guest books, photo albums, officiant binders, table number folios, and field guides. All hand-built with an enormous amount of love. You'll never find another one like it!

  • We work with more than paper! From leather and fabric signage installations, to linen boxes and folios, we've done it. We're always looking for creative ways to use materials of all kinds.

Let's work together!
